For a long time, China has relied on imports for high-end industrial valves used in nuclear power, deep-sea operations, and ultra-low-temperature LNG applications, with core technologies monopolized by overseas companies. In recent years, domestic valve manufacturers have increased investment in research and development, focused on advancing core technologies, and continuously overcome challenges in the R&D and manufacturing of high-end valves. As a result, the localization of high-end valves has accelerated, and the trend toward import substitution in the industry has become increasingly evident.
High-end valves are primarily used in critical sectors such as nuclear power, deep-sea oil and gas, large-scale chemical processing, and clean energy, where they face the most stringent requirements for material performance, machining precision, pressure resistance, and safety and stability. Through material innovation, process upgrades, and structural optimization, domestic companies have successfully developed products such as nuclear-grade valves, deep-sea high-pressure valves, and cryogenic LNG valves, with performance metrics reaching internationally advanced levels.
Today, domestically produced high-end valves are gradually being deployed in major key engineering projects, breaking the long-standing monopoly held by overseas brands. As industry technology continues to evolve and the supporting industrial chain becomes increasingly sophisticated, the localization rate of high-end valves will continue to rise. In the future, the domestic valve industry will move away from low-end, homogeneous competition and pursue high-end, premium-quality development, thereby contributing to the autonomy and controllability of China’s industrial equipment supply chain.
